BESTE GOLD attained the title “PREMIERE FIRST PREMIUM” when presented for his Breeding License with the American Warmblood Registry on October 13th, 2005. To our knowledge, he is one of the top few stallions in all North America to have EVER received this title, and our wonderful young fellow was the highest scoring stallion in 2005 ! His scores were as follows: |
||
| Breed, Type and
Conformation 8 Shoulders & Withers 8 Top Line & Quarters 8 Front Legs 7.7 (due to old injury) |
Hind legs 8 Correctness of movement 7.8 Carriage and Elasticity 8.5 Overall 8.0 |
|
Seven of his foals were presented for their Foal Inspection and received the title “First Premium”. Three of these also received the prestigious accolade “Premiere”and scored among the top tennationally. Less than 20 horses in all of North America recieved the title "Premiere" in 2005, four of them at Magic Rose Farm!! Yearling Filly B'GILDED was Site Champion with a score of 8.2 ( and an 8.7 on movement) followed 2005 filly Beste Harmony in Reserve. The AWR referred to BESTE
GOLD as “Stemplehengst” because of “his uncommon
ability as a sire to stamp his offspring in his image and ALWAYS improve
on the mare.” We could not be prouder that Beste Gold is 4th
generation American Bred and born on our farm. |

I
think they call it "dedication to the sport above all odds",
and Sarah Smith has it! Sarah is the foundation of our success on
the road. Her love of the horses ( and me, God Bless her) began
at 8 years old and has not subsided in all her 23 years. |

2005 COMPETITION SEASON Beste Gold
had a good competition season in spite of an injury which kept him
on restricted exercise through most of the summer. It was interesting
to ride this big horse at a show when he so quickly figured out that
the ONLY time he got to canter each month was in competition!! Even
so, he won many of his First Level 4 classes with scores in the high
60's and 70's. It was our first year competing in the Musical Freestyles
and I am hooked for life! We finished 2005 in the USDF National Standings
in 19th position in the Musical Freestyle Challenge, 27th in Open
Musical Freestyle, and 56th at First Level 4. I am very pleased, especially
considering the many hurdles we overcame.I am learning and we are
both happy and well. I cannot express enough the gratitude I feel
toward everyone who supported and believed in us to make these phenomenal
successes possible. |

| ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SEASON
He soared into
First Level competition , and in only 11 classes earned his USDF
Performance Certificate. At our second competition we pulled his
entry from a First Level class and I learned the FEI 5 Year Old
Test in an hour. Despite our infamiliarity to indoor competition
( with mirrors in which he found himself to be quite handsome),
and my own limitations as a rider thrown into the situation, he
won the class. Despite competing
at only five competitions this season, Beste Gold is consistantly
scoring over 65% in USDF Recognized Competition at First Level.
We are excited for the 2005 season including Musical Freestyle competition
under the tutelage of Evelyn Susol of Cool
Breeze Farm . KICKING OFF 2004
Magic
Rose Farm was a hit at the 2004 Horse World Expos in Timonium, MD
and Harrisburg, PA. We were able to promote our stallion Beste Gold,
his sponsors, the farm, our horses, and Beste Gold’s full
brother, Beloved MRF.
The Expo at Timonium, MD was a great opportunity for us to get back into the swing of expos, make new business contacts, and promote Beste Gold’s brother, Beloved MRF, who was a last minute substitute for Beste Gold. Beste Gold required stitches only days before . Beloved handled it like a pro. He loved all the attention and would stand by the front of the stall to be petted. Our booth was always busy with people asking questions or just stopping by to chat. Beste Gold was in great form and was easily the talk of the show at the PA Horse World Expo. He loved the crowds in the riding exhibitions and performed accordingly. His personality, charisma, size and performance drew crowds around his stall continuously. We were inundated with questions and remarks about how lovely and well behaved he was for a young stallion. Horsey people attended from many states including NY, NJ, PA, MD, VA, WV and further. Anyone who expressed interest in our booth at both expos were asked to fill out a small questionnaire for us which benefited our sponsors. This tool was a great success with donated prizes such as gift certificates, breeding discounts and grooming equipment and supplies. The winners were as follows: PA
Horse World Expo MD
Horse World Expo Miscellaneous
prizes from Horse Tack Co – Jeff Harley of Clinton, Md., Magic
Rose Farm would like to thank all the sponsors of Beste Gold for
their support and generosity. We are looking forward to performing
with Beste Gold throughout the 2004 season in competition and future
attendance at the Expos.
USDF REGION 1 CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS October 17& 18, 2003. We are proud again! The Virginia Horse Park was perfect. Each competition is a new and changing experience for us . The five hour commute to the show grounds was taxing, with Bill recovering from a slight cough , and me coming down with a flu (UGH), but we toughed it out. Beste Gold won his Open Training Level 4 class with an average score of 69.23% that included SEVEN scores of "8" from one judge and FOUR "8's" from the second judge, including gaits and impulsion!!! .....then slept flat out , (snoring) until we rudely awoke him for the championship class three hours later. He "rose" to the occasion with a presentable combined championship score from the "S" judges of 64.62%, which awarded him sixth, then slept the afternoon away until the evening presentations . I was pleased that he was so proud to be included the awards ceremony held in the main coliseum , enjoying the crowd and showing off his gaits . It will be a great winter working toward musical freestyles and the FEI Test For Five Year Olds with such an ambitious partner! The GAIG / USDF Region 1 Championship for Training Level was open to riders from Region 1 with the proper qualifying scores earned during the 2003 competition season. This region encompasses participants from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, DC. The thirty qualified entrants included past USDF Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalists , some with many past accolades at many levels. BESTE GOLD RESERVE CHAMPION AT BLM's October 7, 2003. Beste Gold does it again! Reserve Champion of Training Level Division A was awarded to Beste Gold and owner/rider/breeder Wendy Staub at the Bengt Ljungquist Memorial Championships held October 3-5 at the Horse Park of NJ. Out of 52 BLM rides at Training Level, Beste Gold's score was second highest with a total score 68.125 from two judges. Due to a error, resulting in a 4 point deduction, the Champion title was lost by one point, but it keeps us optimistic for the USDF Regional Dressage Championships in Lexington, VA on October 16-19th. DRESSAGE AT DEVON 2003 October 1, 2003. Magic Rose Farm in the ribbons! Beste Gold placed 4th in the Dressage Suitability class, one of the few 4 yr olds in the top 10 for the 4 and 5yr old Materiale, and another top 10 placing for 4 yr old Stallions and Geldings in Hand. But he isn't alone, Beloved MRF, full brother to Beste Gold, also achieved a top ten placing in the 2 yr old Colts and Geldings in Hand. Another homebred, Fiera MRF(Feinerstern-Alpenglow( Abundance)) was 9th in the 3 yr old Fillies in Hand and imported stallion Lambardus (Lamoureux I - SPS Rosalinda (Welt As)) awarded 9th in the 3 yr old Colts and Geldings in Hand. Both Hot Shot (Red Hot Pepper-Davigna(Davignport)) and D'Katze (Davignport-Gold Katze(Grusus)) scored in the top half of their large colt and filly weanling 2003 classes.
MR CHARISMA!!!September 2003. A photo of Beste Gold taken by Toni Mayr caught Equine Artist Anne Brown’s eye on a breeding flyer at a show. The result?? A 3 foot by 4 foot oil painting of (as she calls him) “the Chippendale Calendar Boy”, to be on display at Dressage at Devon with her other beautiful paintings. The painting is titled “ The Beste of the best”. Prints are available and may be ordered thru Anne at ridestuff@hotmail.com BREEDING NEWS August
2003. Beste Gold’s first foal arrived in May, a lovely dark
bay or brown colt named Bedazzled, very uphill, straight and correct
with a lovely shoulder and his daddy’s awesome gaits and temperament.
He was followed shortly after at the end of June by our own, a filly
named B’eloquent, out of our mare Windsinger ( a Windhuk granddaughter).
A very long legged and tall filly, correct in every way, and sweet
and kind, again with the incredible gaits and a propensity for showing
them off! We are sure by the proof of these two beautiful babies
that Beste Gold will continue to sire correct foals with incredible
cadence, and with his presence, kindness and trainability. Barbara Rickline,
owner of Classic Tradition, Erin and Red Molly Plans are in the works to also provide owners with assistance at marketing their foals, so please check the website for photos in the future. COMPETITION NEWS August 2003. Beste Gold, only a baby himself , has proven already his talent for the show ring. He successfully competed in four USDF recognized shows this summer before the end of July, earning himself a place in the Bengt Ljungquist Memorial Championships , October 3,4,5 in New Jersey and the ABIC/ USDF Region 1 Championships being held in Lexington VA on October 16-19. At the Dressage at Diamond 7 show, Beste Gold was second highest score of the ENTIRE two day show, and high score of Saturday’s competition!! He also received his USDF Performance Certificate at Training Level by completing at least ten scores above 60% and earned Wendy her Qualified Rider Certificate. Wendy is looking forward to training this fall and in Florida in January. OTHER NEWS Beste Gold is not our only success at Magic Rose! August 2003.The three year old filly, Fiera MRF (Feinerstern - Alpenglow (Abundance)) has been making her own storm . She won the Linwood trophy for Junior Champion in Non-Thoroughbred Hunter breeding at Howard County Fair and Reserve Champion Non- Thoroughbred. She also Also won the Bloomsburg Forge Trophy for Grand Champion Sport Horse. Dubloon held the same honors in 1997. |
